Branches of yore were underutilized, so they just added a bunch of branch statues in places that add nothing or make the level worse.
In Scholar, I can tell they tried to improve areas by filling them up a bit more, but holy shit they fucked it up. Areas feel a little empty, but it’s not a huge deal. Like in Heide’s, I think you can count the total number of enemies on your fingers. Playing vanilla, I can see how the areas are kinda empty. This is the main reason why vanilla is far better than scholar, like the only improvement in scholar is that there’s like a boss shortcut for flexile sentries that isnt in vanilla afaik. It’s more of a neutral point than anything.īig thing is level design. Only major change is dull ember location, which you find later in the game in vanilla than in scholar. Item placement, I’ll admit is better in sotfs, but not significantly.
Framerate is fine, and if a game being locked at 30 fps is a dealbreaker for you, that’s your own problem.
